Radon Measurement & Mitigation

Diagram showing how radon enters a home from soil, bedrock, and groundwater, highlighting construction joints, gaps around service pipes, cracks inside walls and floors, and gaps in suspended floors.

What is it? Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive gas produced by the breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water. It is invisible, odorless, and tasteless, making it undetectable without specialized testing.

How does it get into my home? Radon enters homes through foundation cracks and other penetrations into the homes structure, typically below grade. When trapped indoors, it is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers.

How can we help? Health Canada recommends levels below 200 Bq/m³. These are sustained levels. Levels within the home can vary significantly depending on the season, barometric pressure and other factors related to the use of the home. This is why measurement should be conducted over a period of time. Rather than a one time reading. At Cleya, we offer certified mitigation services. We will help you put together an action plan that addresses your individual situation. In order to bring you peace of mind that the air you and your family breathe, is safe and free of harmful levels of radon gas.
